Bishop Ready High School: A Building Block for Building FaithEstablished in 1961, Bishop Ready is committed to the holistic development of students so that they mature physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. We have as our mission a commitment to the spiritual formation, academic distinction, and social responsibility as found in Catholic tradition, wherein all persons are called to witness and reflect the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Our academic program prepares students for both continuing education on the college, junior college, and technical school levels as well as for immediate entry into today’s work force. Our 2007 graduating class earned over $4.5 million in scholarship money to over 30 different colleges and universities. For the 2006-07 school years, the top 20% scored an average of 28.3% on the ACT and 1318 on the SAT (verbal 692; math 699).Our sports and co- and extra-curricular activities give all students a chance to compete and participate in both group and individual endeavors. From Choir to Drama to the Spirit Club and Student Council; from football to baseball and softball to bowling and swimming—our students have a wide-range of options to improve their physical stamina as well as their social graces. Our Campus Ministry program proves that our faith formation occurs not only through the academic study of religion but also through the call to action. Our students are engaged through worship, service to our school and local communities, an awareness of moral and ethical issues, and a sharing of our faith. Prayer services and quiet times for reflection find a place in our St. Michael Chapel.Bishop Ready High School believes that Christ is the ever-present teacher in our classes; that we exist to assist the student in the development of his/her ability to make ethical decisions and to take moral action, as well as to enable the learner to mature to his/her full potential; and in the value of creativity and imagination.
