Bishop Watterson High School seeks to prepare its students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ by providing opportunities for the moral, spiritual, intellectual and social development necessary to achieve their full potential as adults in the Catholic tradition.

The Theology and Campus Ministry Departments provide opportunities whereby students can explore and challenge their intellectual understanding of the Catholic faith, reflect on and grow in their religious development, celebrate liturgies and receive sacraments, and participate in various service projects. Students are also taught to recognize that the Gospel values in the Roman Catholic tradition are the reason for what we do in each academic discipline.

Bishop Watterson meets the needs of all its students by offering a college preparatory and comprehensive academic program. An extensive number of Advanced Placement, honors and accelerated courses ensures that students are prepared for college and their future careers; students may earn college credit by participating in the Ohio Dominican University Dual Enrollment program on our campus or in the off-campus Post Secondary Education Option opportunities. An emphasis on critical thinking and writing skills, integration of technology, and a variety of teaching and assessment strategies are hallmarks of our academic program. In addition, we offer a number of visual, performing and practical arts classes to allow students to develop their talents while pursuing their individual interests. Nearly 100% of the students participate in one or more co-curricular activities which include 31 varsity level sports, more than 30 clubs, drama and musical productions, vocal and instrumental music groups, and service opportunities.

Parental involvement is encouraged through organizations like the School Board, Mother’s Club, Band Boosters, and Athletic Association. We are proud of our tradition of excellence and  are committed to providing a quality Catholic education for all our students.
