The teachers and parents of Our Lady of Perpetual Help believe in our mission: to educate the whole child, mind, heart and soul according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our fundamental purpose is to teach the message of Jesus Christ and to inspire our students to live the Gospel message. We celebrate weekly Mass, participate in daily religion classes and stress our Catholic identity. Our pastor, Father John Swickard, emphasizes the love of Jesus for us, and then in turn, for others. They organized a coat drive for Holy Family Parish, collected toys for children in Iraq, held a bake sale for Children’s Hospital, and raised funds for the American Heart Association. Our Lady has a student body of 451 students enrolled in a K-8 program. Our Lady has twice received the prestigious National Award for Academic Excellence. For seventeen consecutive years Our Lady has received the “Ohio Governor’s Award for Excellence in Youth Science Activities.” Each October students in grades 3-8 take the Terra Nova standardized test, and consistently exceed the diocesan average. We encourage our students to be critical thinkers and problem solvers. Our students are involved in Student council, diocesan league and recreational sports, choir and band. Our music program offers productions at each grade level, Christmas program and 8th grade spring musical. Annual highlights our students anticipate are the third grade overnight experience with their fathers on the Santa Maria, sixth grade environmental camp, seventh grade stream experience at BattelleDarbyCreek, and the eighth grade trip to WashingtonD.C.Our campus is located on 12 acres, and includes a full size gym, computer lab, media center, art room, music room, athletic fields and playground. The new church and family life center are focal points of our parish.
