As an intimate part of the parish, St. Agatha Catholic School fosters academic excellence and spiritual, emotional, and social well-being for the students and families. In fellowship with parents and community, we are dedicated to nurturing enthusiasm for learning and love of God to help each student reach his or her full potential for the good of all. Catch the spirit!!We focus on the A, B, C’s of challenging Academics, Christian Behavior, and Catholic Charity. Tradition and innovation are keys. The literature-based curriculum moves from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.” Through the dedication of the fourth grade teachers, students and parents, St. Agatha School has its very own outdoor classroom, “The Secret Garden “. Starting in fourth grade, the transition to middle school begins by introducing students to more than one teacher for different courses of study. This structure allows maximum strength of curriculum by permitting teachers to teach their area of expertise, and to integrate related subjects such as Language Arts and Social Studies. Students in grades 1 to 6 are introduced to foreign language experience units once a week and seventh and eighth grade students participate in the Spanish program three times a week. Art and music instruction including dance are provided to all students by a gifted artist and talented musician with several opportunities to showcase the students’ talents. In May we hold an all-school art show in celebration of the arts and a middle school musical.St. Agatha School received the National Blue Ribbon School Award from the U.S. Department of Education in 1986-87 and 2000-01.
