Mission Statement: The mission of St. Catharine School is to advance learning in a Catholic environment that nurtures growth and values each student.Founded in 1949, St. Catharine School is a Catholic elementary school serving grades K – 8. It is state chartered and accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation Association and the State of Ohio, Department of Education. It operates under the auspices of the Diocese of Columbus, Office of Catholic Schools. The majority of students live within the parish boundaries.St. Catharine School believes that faith formation and the acquisition of knowledge are essential components in the development of children and adolescents. The school environment encourages intellectual growth, creativity, and critical thinking skills while addressing the individual potential of each student.Resources for students include a technology program that is “state of the art”, weekly school Masses and prayer experiences, laptops for classroom use, SMART Boards in all classrooms, advanced math classes, Algebra program for qualified eighth grade students, nutritious daily lunch program, child care program for before and after school, Math Counts, Student Council, Power of the Pen, and involvement in Columbus Diocesan athletic programs. In addition, parents are involved through Home and School Association, Partners in Education, and SPICE (Special People in Catholic Education) and other volunteer opportunities.St. Catharine School has an enrollment of 270 students. There are 9 classrooms with a teaching staff whose average teaching experience is twelve years.
