Our Mission
St. James is a Catholic learning community committed to educating the whole student. Spiritual, moral, social, academic, and emotional needs are nurtured in a Christ-centered environment that respects the uniqueness of each student.
 
Challenging curriculum: A challenging academic experience encourages intellectual growth, creativity, and critical thinking. Students participate in a variety of learning, community service, and worship opportunities.
 
Fully accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation Association, St. James the Less students consistently exceed expected academic standards. Enrichment and remedial programs are available in both mathematics and reading. As the school adapts to meet the changing needs of its student body, Spanish language is taught to students in grades K-8 and staff members are learning to speak Spanish.
 
A comprehensive Catholic educational program:
Religious instruction includes Mass, preparation for sacraments, prayer, liturgical celebrations and an expanded service learning program; Instruction from certified teachers averaging 15 years experience in the classroom; Low student/ teacher ratio so your child receives the attention he or she deserves; Before and after school childcare program for working parents; All day kindergarten with enrichment opportunities; Football, soccer, volleyball, softball and other sports programs using multiple on-site athletic fields; Other extracurricular activities such as scouting, choir, community service, concert band, and “Just Say No” club. Our Pre-school Program: St. James the Less preschool curriculum provides a variety of developmentally appropriate activities in a Catholic Christian environment that will facilitate the growth and development of each child. The preschool program accepts children ages 3 through 5.
 
Facilities: On-site lending library; computer technology lab; multiple athletic fields and gymnasium; full service cafeteria
 
Tuition assistance: Students have received over $25,000 per year in scholarship and merit awards towards tuition at St. James and St. Francis DeSales high school. EdChoice scholarships are also available to students who have attended qualifying public schools.
