At St. John School, our mission is to provide a Christ centered education in the Catholic tradition. Students in Kindergarten through sixth grade are challenged with a full and well balanced curriculum that follows state and diocesan standards. Instructional methods include traditional and newly researched techniques that provide opportunities for students to learn and grow. Members of our school community work cooperatively to help each student pursue academic achievement and experience success in a safe and supportive learning environment.Students at St. John School participate in many programs and events that are both educational and enjoyable, from Learning Fairs to the Wax Museum. Field trips and presentations that support daily lessons play an important role in the curriculum. Students also attend weekly keyboarding and computer classes, and each classroom is equipped with an interactive Smart Board. St. John students continually receive recognition for their commitment to community programs and activities including 4-H, scouts, and local athletics. The staff and students pride themselves on their dedication to service learning. Each year, the school “adopts” elderly parishioners as grandparents, sends care packages to troops overseas, works to meet the needs of the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, and looks to help the suffering and needy in third world countries. As the community of St. John School, we share the moral responsibility of bringing our students closer to God’s Kingdom. Our students are provided with a variety of opportunities to experience the Catholic faith through daily prayer, the sacraments, adoration, and service to others. We support our students as they experience God in their own lives, nurture their relationship with Him, and contribute to the transformation of their society in the light of their faith.
