Our mission is to provide a quality education while teaching Catholic values in a classroom environment.St. Mary Magdalene School, located on the west side of Columbus, is a parish elementary school serving a large geographical area. The school is chartered by the State of Ohio and is accredited by the OCSAA. The school and parish celebrated its 75th anniversary last year and continue to be a vital part of this community.The school sits on a campus with the church and five other buildings. The academic program is supported by a band, art, physical education teachers, Title I teacher, reading tutor, nurse, and psychologist. A modular building contains the computer lab serving 30 students at a time and the library.St. Mary Magdalene School offers a half-day Kindergarten extended child-care program. The Pre School has Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning and afternoon sessions for 4 and 5 year olds and a Tuesday and Thursday morning program for 3 and 4 year olds. The Pre School program and BASE (latch key) are licensed by the State of Ohio.Parents of St. Mary Magdalene School are encouraged to apply for diocesan tuition assistance if they are in need of help in meeting tuition expenses. In addition to the diocesan fund, St. Mary Magdalene has a parish assistance fund and also receives funds from the George and Mary Kremer Foundation, the Carol Flanagan Foot Steps Foundation, and the Children First Columbus Foundation.Students are prepared for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. The school holds two all school reconciliation services each year, weekly student masses, several all school masses and prayer services. Students and staff plan the masses and participate as servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, cantors, choir and musicians. The students also participate in several service projects.
