In the spirit of the Catholic tradition, the mission of the St. Michael School  community is to teach, model, and encourage our students to be Christ-centered, self-motivated, life-long learners.

Core Beliefs:

  • Catholic faith formation and student learning are the priorities of our school.
  • Each student is a valued individual with spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and    emotional needs.
  • All students can learn.
  • Students learn in different ways and are provided with a variety of instructional approaches and opportunities to support and enrich their learning and creativity.
  • Parents, teachers, administrators, staff, students, and community members share in the responsibility for providing a supportive and safe learning environment within our school.
  • Our commitment to continuous improvement enables students to become Christ- centered, confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.

Since students learn in many different ways, we have many special programs which include a full-time enrichment teacher with very diverse programs, an opportunity to participate in band from grade 4 on up, sports programs from grade 4 on up, a math club, a chess club, safety patrol, student tutoring, student council and altar servers. We also have students who attend weekly monitored sessions to prepare them for History Day, Power of the Pen, and Oratorical Contests on local, state, and national levels.

The St. Michael school students are able to learn using technology. They may use over 250 computers and 60 printers on the network throughout the entire school.  There are four mobile labs containing 125 laptops on a wireless network. The computer labs are a source for developmental instruction for students and teachers. Eleven of the classrooms have mounted SMART Board interactive whiteboards and mounted data projectors to enhance instruction.

St. Michael School has been named a School of Excellence by the U. S. Department of Education.
