Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel, build faith, share tradition, celebrate through worship and prayer, promote the sacramental life, and serve others.Sts. Peter and Paul School has a reputation of educating students who not only have sound scholastic backgrounds but also have excellent personal habits and positive attitudes about themselves and about their community. On the Terra Nova, a standardized test given annually, students consistently score above the national average in all subject areas. Graduates succeed at area high schools and a significant percentage earns academic honors and scholarships. The principles, practices, and beliefs of the Catholic faith are fully integrated in all aspects of the student’s formation. Students pray together daily and celebrate the Eucharist weekly.First through eighth grade students are taught in multi-age classrooms (two grades per room). This allows novices to learn from masters and teachers to build strong relationships with students over time. Students have many opportunities to participate in a variety of activities. With the help of a very gifted music teacher, students take part in a pageant every Christmas and talent show in the spring. Students plan weekly liturgies and serve as extraordinary ministers. The school prides itself for having state-of-the-art technology. Classrooms are furnished with internet accessible computers and electronic SMART Boards that aid teachers in their instruction. Students attend computer lab twice a week where they learn valuable computer skills. Our students recently have won awards in Math Counts, “Power of the Pen.”Students also participate in many different service projects, including Christmas caroling at nursing homes and presenting residents with gifts at a special Christmas Dinner, and helping the “Locks of Love” organization provide wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy. Nearly 2,000 thank you cards were addressed this year by our students for this organization. In addition, five students donated their own hair.
