St. Pius X School has the primary mission to instill, exemplify and practice Catholic doctrine, to provide an educational setting where challenging academic standards are valued and maintained, and to empower each student to mature spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically and socially.The teachings of the Catholic faith permeate the curriculum, spiritual celebrations and educational climate at the school. Catholic values are embodied by the entire school community, which includes the students, staff, faculty and parents. Students participate in a variety of service projects that develop their responsibility as Catholics in a global world.The general curriculum offers students many opportunities to explore hands-on learning experiences. Eighth grade students who qualify take Algebra for high school credit. Certified staff also teach Physical Education, Music, Art, and Spanish enrichment. In striving for the highest level of academic excellence, the school offers special programs to support and integrate the curriculum. PEP (Pius Enrichment Program), Science Fair, D.A.R.E., plays and musical productions, Accelerated Reading, enrichment assemblies, author and story-teller visits, inspirational speakers, Big X writing publication, and outdoor education camp are a few of the many programs that enrich the curriculum. Technology enhances the educational experiences at St. Pius X through weekly, integrated Computer Science classes, interactive SMART boards, music keyboards, digital cameras and extensive library resources.The school receives state funding to provide the following auxiliary services: academic assistance tutoring, speech-language therapy, school psychologist, reading improvement teacher, and a school nurse. St. Pius X Parish offers Preschool, Kindergarten Enrichment and after-school Latchkey.
